Job summary
There is an exciting opportunity to join the team on Gate 34 as ward clerk. Gate 34 is a 38 bedded uro-gynaecology ward and the ward clerk is key in providing timely communication both face to face and via the telephone. Excellent communication skills and ability to empathise with patients and their relatives is essential. As are organisational skills and managing your own workload within a very busy environment The post is full time but there is scope for job share and/or part time working
Main duties of the job
The Ward Clerk will undertake all administration tasks for the ward & follow the Ward Clerk Job Description. Summary as below: Communicate with Visitors, Patients, Nursing & Medical Staff to help ward staff ensure patient care is co-ordinated safely & effectively. Ensure Telephone calls and the front desk enquiries are handled appropriately & communication is effective between all concerned. Ensure all Medical notes are collected, collated, sourced & filed appropriately; including scanning of all assessment unit notes onto PPM. Ensure the stock levels are managed & supplies are ordered in a timely manner. Ensure patient flow is co-ordinated within the ward area. Ensure all relevant follow-up appointments are made for all specialities Ensure Trust Values and Behaviours are adhered to at all times. Good general education to include CSE or GCSE in English Language and Maths or equivalent/experience
