Job summary

An opportunity has arisen within MY Therapy service to recruit experienced and highly motivated part-time Band 6 Occupational Therapist. The role is within our Community Neuro and ESD team, providing specialist therapy to people within the community setting.

The successful candidate will work within the community neurology team to provide rehabilitation to individuals with a neurological disorder including Stroke, Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Parkinsons Disease, Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and other progressive neurological conditions. They will facilitate timely discharges from hospital, and support individuals to manage their condition effectively to maximise function and prevent unnecessary hospital admissions.

MY Therapy service is a large MDT incorporating Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and support staff. The team will provide an opportunity to be involved in the integration of services to see the delivery of health and social services to Wakefield residents in line with providing care closer to home.

Main duties of the job

  • To independently and effectively self manage a defined caseload within the Community Rehabilitation team using evidence based, client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
