Are you a Registered Nurse/ODP with a passion for delivering high quality care? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Registered Nurse/ODP to join our dynamic team in the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit in Wakefield. We are looking for a self-motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic individual with the ability to enable and empower their team. Strong leadership and performance management is an integral aspect of this role, with patient safety and experience underpinning all aspects of the efficient running of the unit. The Mid-Yorkshire Trust has 25 general theatres and three obstetric theatres across three sites in Wakefield, Pontefract and Dewsbury, delivering a dynamic and challenging range of clinical specialities. The Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) comprises 28 bays and continues the high quality care provided within the theatre environment. We also have a dedicated and forward thinking team of clinical educators supporting and training our workforce as well as close links with the local universities. As a senior practitioner you will be responsible for supporting the Band 7 in providing day to day management of PACU, ensuring a safe and functional unit at all times.
Main duties of the job
To act as clinical lead for the Post Anaesthetic Care setting on a shift to shift basis. The key roles are ensuring a high quality service is delivered to patients and carers, the supervision and support of junior Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) members and to ensure the ongoing smooth running of the department. To effectively communicate to, and support, patients their family and carers.
