Main duties of the job
The role is a key part of the nursing team, offering compassionate care to patients, carers, and relatives at the Trust.
You will work under the direction of a qualified member of staff to ensure the safe and skilled delivery of a range of clinical tasks.
You will need to maintain a professional appearance at all times and build positive, respectful relationships with staff, patients, and families.
You will protect the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of individuals, ensuring that equality and diversity are respected in everything you do.
During your apprenticeship, you will learn the necessary theory and skills to undertake a range of core clinical skills, including but not limited to:
- Venepuncture, blood pressure, cannula removal, heart rate monitoring, temperature, swabbing, samples such as urine dip, wound care and simple dressing, pregnancy tests, and catheter removal and insertion.
As an apprentice clinical support worker you will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week, however you will be given dedicated study time in order to complete the apprenticeship.
