An exciting opportunity has arisen to gain a qualification whilst supporting people with a range of complex and challenging conditions. You will gain knowledge of distraction and diversion techniques and have the ability to create a positive and safe environment for patients who require additional support during their stay in hospital. The Enhanced Care Team will be recruiting 17 Apprentice Enhanced Care Support Workers and Enhanced Care Support Workers who will provide an enhanced level of care to patients with behaviours that challenge or for those at high risk of absconding.
Please also note that this role is not on the Home Office list of occupations eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route.
Main duties of the job
The role is a key part of the nursing team, offering compassionate care to patients, carers, and relatives at the Trust. You will undertake a training programme to achieve a Clinical Support Worker apprenticeship over a maximum of 16 months. You will work under the direction of a qualified member of staff to ensure the safe and skilled delivery of a range of clinical tasks. You will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours a week and will be allocated 20% of your contracted hours (up to a maximum of 6 hours a week) protected time towards study, learning, shadowing and appropriate courses. You will need to maintain a professional appearance at all times and build positive, respectful relationships with staff, patients, and families. You will protect the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of individuals, ensuring that equality and diversity are respected in everything you do. During your apprenticeship, you will learn the necessary theory and skills to undertake a range of core clinical skills.
