Job summary

At this exciting time, the Trust is preparing to transition to a new electronic safety and risk management system. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and compassionate individual to join our Safety and Risk Teams in the role of Safety and Risk Co-ordinator. The post holder is responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining administrative processes to support the Health and Safety Team, Head of Risk and Safety, Patient Safety Intelligence Manager and Director of Nursing and Quality in delivering the Trust patient safety, risk and governance objectives. The post holder facilitates the collection of information and evidence to support the Head of Risk and Safety in ensuring that Trust processes are followed for the management of National Patient Safety Alerts received via the Central Alerting System (CAS) and maintaining a comprehensive central register.

Main duties of the job

Administration of the Trust processes for the receipt, evaluation and management of National Patient Safety Alerts. Maintain a central register of all Safety Alerts, to include Senior Responsible Officer, Monitoring Group, actions taken, evidence submitted and deadlines. Ensure that the Trust information/position is current and updated on the Central Alerting System (CAS) website ensuring Trust data is reported accurately Facilitate reporting to various Trust groups and committees to demonstrate Trust adherence and compliance with Trust Policy and national requirements. Support Quality and Safety Team Administrators with the completion of incidents reported within the Trust electronic safety and risk management system. Monitor the day-to-day process of Duty of Candour including appropriate escalation and providing assurance of robust audits. Provide administrative support to the weekly Patient Safety Oversight Group as required. Assist the Patient Safety Intelligence Manager in undertaking analysis of patient safety data to identify themes and trends Provide support and education to users of the Trust electronic safety and risk management system as required Support the Safety and Risk Team with the management of projects, gathering information and undertaking enquiries as and when necessary Further main duties of the role are outlined in the attached Job Description.

The Safety and Risk Co-ordinator links with staff across all departments and at different levels in the Trust so a high standard of written and verbal communication is of the utmost importance. The post holder also has access to sensitive and person-identifiable information and must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
