Job summary

Here at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our community podiatry team as a Band 5 Podiatrist on a permanent contract.

We are looking to recruit a motivated, forward thinking, HCPC Registered Podiatrist with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work in a community setting delivering high quality patient centred care.

Working as a community Podiatrist you will be required to use your initiative and provide a range of high quality podiatric interventions in a range of locations including clinical, domiciliary, nursing homes and other external settings throughout the Wakefield district.

Core working hours are 9 day fortnight, 8.30-5.30 Monday to Thursday and alternate 8.30-4.00

Main duties of the job

To develop and implement clinically effective podiatric interventions to the population covered by Wakefield District Health and Care Partnership, delivering services from a number of locations dependent upon service need.

To use clinical reasoning, critical thinking, analysis and reflection to support assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning and to develop and implement individualised treatment plans for patients with foot pathology and medical need.

This will be in accordance with Professional/Trust policies and guidelines.

To provide general care in a range of locations including clinical, domiciliary, hospital, nursing homes and other external settings.

To work as a highly motivated team member to achieve the best patient outcome.

To undertake nail surgery assessment and nail surgery.

Participation in the placements of students/other healthcare professionals, professional support of undergraduate Podiatrists and trainee Podiatry assistants who deliver care in the post holders clinical area.
