We are now seeking a dedicated and professional Security Supervisor to join our Estates and Facilities team. The successful candidate must hold a valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Licence and a valid SIA (PSS) CCTV Licence. You will play a vital role in leading our frontline security services, ensuring our hospital sites remain safe, secure, and well-managed at all times. Shift Information: Standard shift pattern: 2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off (12-hour shifts) Shift pattern is currently under review and subject to change Flexibility is essential, including the ability to cover various hospital sites and work during periods of staff absence or annual leave

Main duties of the job

As Security Supervisor, you will support the Security Management Team in the day-to-day operation and supervision of the security team across the Trusts sites. You will ensure the delivery of a professional, effective, and customer-focused security service that promotes the safety and security of all Trust premises, staff, and service users. Supervise and support a team of Security Officers across Trust sites. Assist in staff scheduling, rota management, and shift planning. Conduct regular patrols and security audits of buildings and grounds. Lead on-site incident response including aggressive behaviour, intrusions, and emergencies. Monitor and manage CCTV systems, access control, and alarm systems. Carry out investigations and produce detailed incident reports. Support training and induction of new security personnel. Liaise with clinical and non-clinical departments, emergency services, and external agencies. Ensure compliance with Trust policies and procedures including NHS Security Management Service (SMS) standards.

Job responsibilities

  • Delivery of Security and Car Parking Services obligations under the Contract.
  • Plan, deliver and review all aspects relating to the provision of Security and Car Parking services to the hospitals and ensure the flow of internal cash collection is managed.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures in line with Contract obligations.
  • Liaise with wards/departments and develop good customer relations to ensure effective service delivery. Respond to calls for assistance within required timescales.
  • Support the Management team in the response to customer complaints in line with the Trust’s Complaint Procedures.
  • Ensure the protection of NHS/ENGIE property against damage, loss, theft and waste.
  • Manage the CCTV system in line with agreed policies within the control room and ensure Data Protection Act and relevant legislation is adhered to.
  • Maintain the Access Control System and related documentation:
  • Maintain and manage other relevant systems with a direct link to Security.
  • Ensure Security KPI's are achieved and reported on.
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork associated with KPI Reporting is completed.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company's Quality Systems.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety Legislation and ensure all Company policies and procedures for Health & Safety are carried out.
  • Ensure all staff are trained on Health & Safety matters,
  • To carry out annual appraisals of direct reports and to identify training needs.
  • To ensure all Security Officers have a valid SIA licence for their relevant field.
  • Manage staff rotas in line with budget and to ensure service delivery can be achieved.
  • Any other ad hoc duties at the request of the line manager, as deemed reasonable.
