A Career with Purpose: Estates Operations Manager The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust Estates Team We Are Looking to Recruit a Skilled Estates Operations Manager (Mechanical or Electrical Bias Welcome) The Estates Operations Manager is responsible for the effective delivery of operational estates maintenance and services across all designated hospital properties. The post holder will ensure that all works are compliant with statutory requirements, NHS Health Technical Memoranda (HTMs), and industry best practices, supporting a safe and efficient healthcare environment.
Main duties of the job
Working collaboratively with the counterpart Band 7 Estates Operations Manager (Electrical/Mechanical), the post holder will manage resources and services across the estate, providing technical expertise and leadership within their core discipline. Key Responsibilities Operational Management Lead and manage Estates Supervisors, Directly Employed Labour (DEL), and specialist contractors. Ensure the provision of an effective, compliant, and efficient Estates service supporting safe patient care. Act as Responsible/Authorised Person for specific disciplines (e.g. LV Systems, Electrical Work Regulations, Lifts, Medical Gas, Ventilation). Technical Leadership Provide expert advice and support to the Senior Operational Manager, Estate Officers, Supervisors, DEL, and contractors. Operate, maintain, and develop the Building Management System (BMS), including programming and parameter changes aligned to service needs. Quality & Compliance Proactively ensure the department achieves and maintains ISO9001 accreditation. Develop and implement safe systems of work and operational procedures, Trust-wide where necessary. Liaise with external regulatory bodies (e.g. HSE, Environment Agency) as required. Resource & Budget Management Manage delegated resources and budgets to ensure value for money and quality service delivery. Support capital works and manage minor works projects from conception to completion. Waste Management Oversee the operational aspects of waste collection
