Job summary
To work as a member of the plain film radiography team responsible for producing high quality diagnostic images within the radiology service. For more information please see attached job description.
Main duties of the job
To perform a comprehensive range of radiographic procedures, without supervision, including - imaging in the department within the A&E, general and fluoroscopy X-ray departments and imaging external to the main department including in theatre and mobile imaging on the wards. To ensure the safe use of x-ray and associated equipment. To ensure imaging procedures are carried out in accordance with mandatory departmental systems of work and protocols. To assess each patient and referral to enable the correct course of action for examination and diagnosis. To communicate effectively with patients and carers of varying abilities and understanding; explaining procedures clearly in order to gain co-operation. To contribute towards the development of high standards of patient care. To maintain and enhance clinical expertise ensuring high technical and professional standards at all times. To work within procedures, policies and legislation in relation to COSHH, Moving and Handling, Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017 and the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations IR(ME)R 2017.
