Job summary

We are delighted to be able to advertise a Band 6 Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist post. This post is full time and fixed term for 12 months. This post is within a dynamic and friendly Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Team under the Physiotherapy Service at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. The service is delivered by the team of therapists and the clinical leads across the three hospital sites within the trust. At Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, we provide an extensive physiotherapy service for our patients with pelvic health problems. We have strong links with other therapy teams as well as the wider MDT within urogynaecology, gynaecology, urology, colorectal and midwifery. The team is currently expanding due to the roll out of local Perinatal Pelvic Health Services and the successful candidate will have a key role in setting up and delivering this service alongside the clinical leads.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be expected to provide physiotherapy assessment and treatment for a caseload of patients with pelvic floor dysfunction. This will include patients with bladder and bowel dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic pain as well as perinatal patients (including MSK conditions). The postholder will assist in helping shape the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy service in line with latest guidelines, providing the highest quality care for patients and provide support and training to the wider physiotherapy team and other healthcare professionals. As a team, we pride ourselves on our development and positive approach to change, as well as having a flexible and supportive team ethos. We are committed to supporting the successful candidate to expand their knowledge in this specialism for the benefits of the patient and the service through formal courses and in service training.
