MYDoc Clinical Fellows in
Anaesthesia:
1.
Simulation
2.
Quality
Improvement and/or Research
The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is pleased to announce
the introduction of these new roles aimed at doctors who are passionate about
their practice and their career, and those who require temporary posts outside
traditional models. Our posts will combine education and career development
with practical patient-facing care. They would particularly suit individuals
looking to increase their anaesthetic experience prior to applying for
specialty training or at the end of training prior to applying for consultant
posts.
These posts are not recognised UK training posts but will be
treated as a trainee equivalent. MYDoc doctors will have a named supervisor and
be supported in undertaking scheduled educational opportunities to consolidate
and develop alongside their experiential learning, with certificated outcomes
or credentialing to support career progression.
*Please apply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment as the vacancy may close early should sufficient suitable applicants apply*
Main duties of the job
Post One
(simulation):With
a busy department, we hold regular multi-disciplinary training sessions to
improve the care in emergency scenarios or in rare conditions. As well as providing
service commitment for Obstetric or Acute anaesthesia, this post would focus on
working with the consultant anaesthetic team to help deliver this simulation
training programme. Building on work by the previous fellow, we would like to
deliver tea-trolley training in theatres and intensive care.
Post Two
(quality improvement and/or research):In addition to gaining clinical experience in
Obstetric & Acute anaesthesia, this post would offer the opportunity to
work with our clinical managers for Governance and Theatres and our Audit lead
on quality improvement projects within the department or to work with our
active research team on the multi-centre NIHR research studies in anaesthesia
& intensive care.
About us
We provide care and support to over a million people in
Wakefield and Kirklees in their homes, community settings and across our
three hospital sites at Pontefract, Dewsbury and Pinderfields (Wakefield).
Always striving for excellence, we are at the forefront of
innovation and research, and we invest in teaching and the development of our
workforce.
We live by our values of caring, improving, being respectful
and maintaining high standards. We listen and learn because we aim to make Mid
Yorkshire the best place to work and receive care.
We value diversity and welcome talent and enthusiasm
irrespective of age, disability, neurodivergence, sex, gender identity and
gender expression, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation,
or other personal circumstances including providing unpaid carers support to
someone with a health and care need. As ethnic minority groups, members of the
LGBTQ+ community, and people with a disability/neurodivergence are currently
under-represented across the organisation, we encourage applications from
members of these groups. We have policies and procedures to ensure all
applicants are treated fairly and consistently.
We are proud of our staff networks - who offer valuable
guidance and feedback from those with lived experience.
We have a clear vision and you could be part of this! If
you share our values and you want to make a difference to the lives of our
patients and their families and carers, we would love to hear from you.
