Job summary

The Mid Yorkshire Stroke and Neuro Rehab Service require a Consultant to complement the current team providing stroke services and Rehabilitation support for the Wakefield District, north Kirklees, some parts of south Leeds and the Hyperacute Services for large parts of Barnsley. This position is a substantive post for Stroke Medicine. You will join a team of 4 substantive Stroke Physicians, 6 Consultant Neurologists, Consultant Neurophysiologists and a Consultant in Neurological Rehabilitation. You will assist in delivering holistic patient-focused care by multi-disciplinary and multi-speciality collaboration in a large Acute Stroke Centre. The post is expected to support the entire pathway which will cover Hyperacute services currently being 1:8, acute stroke unit and the rehabilitation unit as well as providing on calls for thrombolysis both out of hours and weekends. The consultant is expected to support running of the TIA clinic which is held every day of the week. The Neurosciences Unit provides a sub-regional Neurological Service to parts of West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and South Yorkshire. Main duties of the job

The main duties of the post will include Supporting Professional Activities in accordance with the Trust Framework, with at least a minimum of 1.5 SPAs included in the core 10PA timetable. Full GMC Registration with licence to practise, be on the specialist register or within 6 months of obtaining CCT (or CESR / equivalent)’)
