MYDoc – Senior Microsurgical Breast Recon –Fellow

Job summary
Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is pleased to offer an opportunity to a motivated individual to continue the success of this role. The Breast Fellow post will work within our tertiary plastic surgery breast reconstruction unit that offers all aspects of breast reconstruction including a busy and growing microsurgical service. We perform approximately 80 free flaps reconstructions. The post will have an opportunity to work within the on-site breast unit that offers exposure to breast oncology and oncoplastic techniques. This post will be a combination of training, research, educational input and service delivery within the specialty. Although this post is not a recognised UK training post, MYDoc doctor will have a named supervisor and will be expected to undertake educational opportunities in order to consolidate and support career progression. The department offers a supportive environment in which to develop academic and clinical interests. The post is for a fixed term of 6 months. There is scope for extension at the discretion of the department pending funding approval and satisfactory progression. Main duties of the job
The main duties of the post will include: Provision of care with responsibility for the management of patients with acute and chronic conditions including complex cases. Referral of patients to other specialities as appropriate Out-patient activities/clinics Involvement in specialty and cross-specialty multi-disciplinary teams and meetings Involvement in relevant administration duties Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and other clinicians as appropriate Active involvement in audit and clinical governance including service improvement activities Please see the attached full job description for an example weekly timetable.
