We have an exciting opportunity within our Doncaster Mental Health Support Teams for a Band 7 Team Lead to support the exciting expansion of our service. We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, and child-focused person to join our team.

Doncaster With Me In Mind (Mental Health Support Teams) are one of the national 'trailblazer' sites for developing mental health support in schools and reducing waiting times for access to specialist services. This is a really exciting time for the team as it continues to develop, implementing 'New Ways of Working' and a new service model underpinned by the national initiative for transforming children and young people's mental health.

Currently, we have established teams in over 70% of education settings across Doncaster. As part of the first wave trailblazer, Wave 8, 12 and now wave 14 the service continues to expand with plans to have full 100% coverage by 2030. We have an exciting opportunity within our Doncaster Mental Health Support Teams for a:

Band 7 Mental Health Support Team Lead X 1 Doncaster.

Main duties of the job

Team Leads will support practitioners in both educational and health settings to support children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems using evidence based interventions. The post holder will support the day to day running of the team, and will demonstrate an understanding of the MHST model, service development and have some leadership experience.

Essential

  • Relevant health/social care Degree or equivalent body e.g. RMN, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist
  • Professional registration.

Desirable

  • Additional training/qualification in leadership
  • Master's Degree or equivalent
  • A qualification, or have undertaken a program of formal training in Supervision

Experience

  • Experience of leading teams and supervising staff and students at all levels.
  • Experience of working in children's services e.g. Children's mental health, social care or education.
