Job summary
Following successful implementation of this role, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team to support the performance of 4Doncaster Primary Care Network. 4Doncaster are a forward thinking and innovative PCN looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic and versatile member of our team The 4Doncaster Primary Care Network was established by four practices situated in central Doncaster:
- The Burns Medical Practice
- The Kingthorne Group Practice
- The Mount Group Practice
- The St Vincent Group Practice
The establishment of the 4Doncaster network has enabled the recruitment of additional staff, including Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, MSK Practitioners, Social Prescribers, Mental Health Practitioners, Dietitians, Care Coordinators and Health & Wellbeing Coaches. The proposed work pattern for this post is:
- Monday 8 - 6 (9.5)
- Tuesday 8-6 (9.5)
- Friday 8-6 (9.5)
- Sat 9-12 (3)
Some flexibility to the working pattern and hours could be considered.
Main duties of the job
To work within the identified PCN, job plan aligned to local working instructions and local guidance delivering direct patient assessment and intervention.
Provide a lead role in supporting Primary Care Networks in triaging mental health concerns in adults and providing specialist advice.
To provide a comprehensive Primary Mental Health Nursing Service across the whole range of patients, service will be provided mainly via clinics and one-to-one interactions with service users which will include the provision of bio-psycho-social assessment and treatment delivery, including the role of Independent Non-medical prescribing.

- NMC Registered Nurse (RMN or Registered Nurse Adult)
- Independent non-medical prescriber (NMP) or prepared to undertake the training as soon as possible once in post
- A Degree-level registration qualification plus equivalent post-registration qualifications or experience to postgraduate level
Desirable
- Teaching and Assessing Qualification.
- A recognised qualification in Clinical Supervision.
- Psycho-Social Interventions (PSI) Qualification
- Evidence of ability / capability to study at Post Graduate Master's Degree level.
Experience
