Job summary
To provide a high-quality specialist ADHD service to patients and their families across RDASH services. The post holder will be a prescriber for assessment, initiation, titration and ongoing management of ADHD treatment.
Main duties of the job
- To provide comprehensive expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of Adults with ADHD across the RDASH localities. Review with others the assessment and monitoring of adults identified with ADHD
- Provide direct nursing judgement and treatment interventions based on skills and knowledge regarding clinical management and educational management of adults with ADHD.
- Exercise Independent prescribing rights using guidelines and protocols
- Ensure that the patient's interests are fully considered within the context of care, actively participating in ethical decision making within the multi-disciplinary team.
- Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge of patients.
- To undertake risk assessments and risk management for individuals and their families.
- To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues in relation to ADHD.
- To provide high quality support and advice to health and other professionals
- To supervise the implementation and monitoring of new developments in ADHD.
- To promote and co-ordinate the implementation of shared care arrangements.

Essential
- Registered Nurse (RMN, RNLD, Pharmacist)
- Evidence up to date and applicable CPD.
- Motivated with genuine interest in Neurodiversity.
- Hold V300 (Independent Supplementary Prescribing) or actively working towards this.
- Independent Prescribing Qualification
- Qualified Pharmacist
Desirable
- Evidence of extensive post registration learning & development.
- Previous experience in Clinical Leadership and delivering leadership clinical supervision
- Completed UKAAN training with experience as a diagnostician or willing to work towards.
- Experience working with differential diagnosis (Mental health)

- Ability to prioritise busy workload/caseload
- Use the full range of person-centred alternative and argumentative communication strategies
- Able to cope with stressful situations and remain positive in the face of clinical pressures.
