Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Management Accounts team to undertake a Band 4 to 5 Assistant Management Accountant training role.
The ideal candidate will have gained the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification and is currently undertaking, or willing to undertake, studies to become a member of a registered CCAB accountancy body.
The successful candidate is expected to fully apply and demonstrate their AAT competencies and CCAB training in the undertaking of their role, using their own initiative where possible.
Main duties of the job
At Band 4, the main duties are:
- To produce finance reports that accurately reflects the expenditure the Trust has incurred on its services and the income the Trust receives from its commissioners.
- To ensure the maintenance and production of accurate budgetary and financial control information to ensure a good level of basic financial control within the Trust.
- To investigate expenditure and income trends and provide financial advice to Budget Holders and resolve queries.
- To assist the Senior Finance Manager in providing financial management accountancy support and advice to Trust Care Groups and other Budget Managers
- To ensure financial information is processed in accordance with Trust budget reporting timetable and the Trust's financial procedures.
At Band 5, the main duties will be the above, plus the following:
- To provide overall I&E financial management and support to Budget Managers of designated Care Group.
- To provide line management responsibility for any finance apprentices/trainee management accountants within the team on a rotational basis with the other Assistant Management Accountants.
