Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and inspirational Modern Matron to work within the North Lincolnshire Community Directorate.

The post holder will work with the Directorate Leads to ensure that the teams within the directorate deliver high, quality, safe, effective care and provide the best possible outcomes for people using our services.

You will be a highly visible, compassionate leader with strong values that align with those of the organisation. You will lead by example, being a positive role model who inspires, motivates and empowers our clinicians in the safe effective delivery of care and treatment.

The successful candidatewill be part of meeting the 28 promises makes to the communities we work in, the people who access our services and our valued staff.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be a collaborative, inclusive and compassionate leader with values and behaviours that inspire high standards of care and pride in the profession.

In conjunction with the Care Group senior leadership team, the postholder will create a positive safety culture, where the environment is collaboratively crafted, created, and nurtured so that everybody (individual staff, teams, patients, families, and carers) can flourish to ensure the best, safe, quality care by:

1. Continuous learning and improvement of safety risks

2. Supportive, psychologically safe teamwork

3. Enabling and empowering speaking up by all

The post holder, will demonstrate highly visible leadership, be responsible for the delivery of safe and therapeutic care, using an effective governance framework within a defined set of teams or/and ward team areas. In line with 'The Matron's Handbook. NHS Updated July 2021.

Leadership & Management

o A key clinical leader and visible role model

o Ensure high-quality nursing and professional standards in all areas of practice and performance.

o Provide direct supervision to team leaders and/or ward leaders in the care group in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

o Provide professional nursing advice and professional standards guidance to teams as required.

  • Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by post graduate specialist training and experience

  • Masters level qualification or equivalent

  • Senior clinical nursing experience showing managerial or advanced practice skills in any transferable clinical setting.
