The role of Perinatal Peer Support Worker has been developed specifically for people who have lived experience of using perinatal mental health services. Through sharing their own experiences, Peer Support Workers will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible in others. Within a relationship of mutuality and information sharing, they will promote choice, self-determination and opportunities for the fulfilment of personally valued roles and connection to local communities.
If you don't already have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 3apprenticeship qualification [relevant to your role].
As an apprentice within RDaSH you will be given the opportunity to gain experience, learn work-related skills and obtain all the tools needed to thrive.
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
Main duties of the job

They will also contribute to the Parent Infant Emotional Wellbeing team service development and the development of peer support within the Trust. They will bring unique, valuable insights and perspectives gained thought their lived experience, and advocate for the voice of the service user.
The organisation is supportive of training needs and there is an excellent learning and development programme. You will receive regular safeguarding, management and clinical supervision and will have support from the leadership team.
