Doncaster Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) are seeking a committed Assistant Psychologist (Band 4) to work across our Getting Help and Getting Advice pathways.
The post holder will support and enhance the professional care of children and young people (CYP) accessing our service, contributing to psychological assessment and interventions under the supervision of our qualified Clinical Psychologist and within the framework of team policies and procedures. This role will involve supporting clinically related administration, contributing to audits, collecting service data, and assisting with research, training and service development projects.
As an Assistant Psychologist you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and will receive regular supervision from qualified Clinical Psychologists.
Main duties of the job
The Assistant Psychologist will work within the CAMHS team across the Getting Advice and Getting Help pathways, supporting the assessment and care of children and young people (CYP) under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
Therole involves assisting with psychological assessments and psychometric testing (e.g. ADOS, WISC-V, ABAS), contributing to formulation and producing professional and CYP-friendly reports. The post holder will communicate sensitively with CYP, families and professionals, provide psychoeducation and support sessions, maintain accurate clinical records, and contribute to multidisciplinary and multi-agency working.
Therole also includes supporting pathway meetings, contributing to training and consultation with schools and partner agencies, participating in regular clinical supervision and professional development, and assisting with service evaluation, audit and research activities within the CAMHS service.
The post holder will hold an upper second-class honours (or higher) undergraduate degree in Psychology and entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
