Therapy Group Support Volunteer - Talking Therapies Doncaster

Job summary

Doncaster Talking Therapies has an exciting opportunity for a potential Volunteer to support the delivery of our therapy groups as well as supporting the wider service with health promotional activity in the community.

The volunteer would need to be available on either:

Monday 9AM-12AM - stress busters course

Tuesday 10-1PM - overcoming anxiety

Thursday 09:30-11:30 - overcoming depression

Thursday 5-7PM - stress busters course

The purpose of this role is to act as an ambassador for this service by supporting staff with group activities and accompanying them to events to promote the fulfilling work they do. As Talking Therapies is a very people focused environment, you will be interacting and engaging with a variety of individuals whilst complimenting the positive contribution the staff are making.

Main duties of the job

The primary focus of the Therapy Group Support Volunteer is support the delivery of therapy groups. This includes, if the group is face-to-face, helping set up the room, welcoming patients, collecting measures and supporting the therapists. If it is a remote group this would include welcoming people, monitoring the chat function, relaying questions asked by the attendees as well as supporting therapists.

The Therapy Group Support Volunteer will also be required to work within the list of tasks identified as follows:

To be an ambassador for the Trust and the services we provide

Supporting the Talking Therapies team to ensure a people focused service.

Help people to access the service. This includes helping the service through marketing and promotional activities and assisting with reception duties.

Working with a multi - disciplinary team

Supporting Staff with activity and discussion groups

Ensure a welcoming atmosphere for all

Replenish and distribute leaflets and information when required
