Senior Occupational Therapist - Band 5/6 Development

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our friendly dynamic Neurorehabilitation team. You will work mainly within the inpatient and INCS service (Integrated Neurological Condition Service) providing support to the 10 virtual beds across Doncaster and Rotherham by delivering high quality assessment and rehabilitation to patients experiencing a range of neurological condition and injuries including traumatic and acquired brain injuries, MS, Guillain Barre and spinal cord pathologies. The service has a strong MDT of physiotherapists, Speech and Language therapists, Psychologists, Specialist Nurses and Rehab Assistants. You will also have responsibility for supervising students and junior staff.

The successful candidate will be an experienced, forward thinking, adaptable Neuro Occupational Therapist who is able to autonomously manage a caseload of patients with a range of neurological conditions. They will be registered with the HCPC and have significant post qualification experience within neurological rehabilitation.'

Main duties of the job

  • Providing specialist assessment and rehabilitation to neurological patients.
  • Close MDT working
  • Supporting collaborative goal setting and discharge planning
  • Working autonomously to manage a caseload
  • Supporting senior staff in the delivery of Trust objectives and services development
  • Providing training and supervision to Band 5's, Rehab assistance and students
  • Contributing to in-service training programme

There will be regular delegation to rehabilitation assistants and supervision of rehabilitation programmes. You will also be required to assist in monitoring service performance and develop the service to meet the changing needs of pathways.

We encourage and support staff to continue to develop, with access to in house and external training.
