Job summary
The postholder will be a collaborative, visible, inclusive and compassionate leader with values and behaviours that inspire understanding and trust, build inclusion and reduce inequalities.In conjunction with the Care Group Nurse Director, this postholder will contribute to creating a positive safety culture, where the environment is collaboratively crafted, created, and nurtured so that everybody (individual staff, teams, patients, service users, families, and carers) can flourish to ensure brilliant, safe care by:
1. Continuous learning and improvement of safety risks.
2. Supportive, psychologically safe teamwork.
3. Enabling and empowering speaking up by all.
The postholder will lead and manage the medical workforce within the Care Group.
It is expected that the successful candidate will become a medical appraiser within their first year in post if they are not already.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will work in collaboration with other Clinical Directors within the CareGroup to support the delivery of a robust quality governance framework, as part of the collective leadership team supporting the delivery of effective, safe, and high-quality care delivery to patients, carers and their families.
The postholder will contribute to the strategic direction for safe and high-quality services; this will include the development and delivery of key actions within the Trust Strategy and other relevant clinical plans.
The postholder will be accountable to the Trust's Deputy Medical Director in relation to the leadership and management of safe medical staffing and caseloads oversight across the services, escalating concerns and offering solutions where possible.
