Job summary
RDaSH Promise 8:
Research, create and deliver five impactful changes to inequalities faced by our population in accessing and benefitting from our autism, learning disability and mental health services as part of our wider drive to tackle inequality (the RDaSH 5).
The post holder will be responsible for delivering, developing and supporting the equality and inclusion agenda as part of the Trust Perinatal mental health services. This will include a key role in supporting and developing mechanisms for service users, families and carers to influence and have a say in development of the services.
The main hours of working will be flexible between 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, dependent on engagement events that are taking place, there will be occasions when the post holder will be required to adjust their working hours so that they can support the event.
Main duties of the job
o Support delivery and work with the Trust Perinatal Mental Health Teams to support patient and public engagement.o Work with individual services to establish links with patients and members of the public including groups and networks.o Liaise with the Trust Equality and Diversity and Inclusion Lead to createopportunities for meaningful engagement/involvement of people from diverse communities.o Explore innovative ways of engaging stakeholders.o Plans, facilitates and co-ordinates meetings, events, focus groups and othermethods of working collaboratively with patients, carers, the public and staff, considering reasonable adjustments (e.g., patients with learning disabilities).o Facilitate improvements in levels of service user feedback across the service, using processes such as Care Opinion and outcome measures under the direction of management.o Utilise learning and feedback to develop proposals to support improved outcomes in perinatal care delivery.o Deliver Promise 8 and ensure that people accessing services are representative of the whole local community.o Support the team with data collection and analysis to improve patient, carer and public experience.o Communicate complex, sensitive, and contentious information effectively with patients, families/carers, colleagues, and professionals where barriers to understanding may be present.o Use non-verbal communication skills that are non-judgemental and appropriate to the situation.
