Job summary
Work in partnership with operational colleagues and the performance team to maintain a robust data quality framework.
Work with internal and external audit to review systems and processes to identify data quality issues and manage the rollout of service improvement projects and programmes.
Work with colleagues in the Health Informatics Directorate to understand data quality issues and provide assistance and advice to enable resolution; championing a proactive approach to information quality management in clinical settings and providing feedback if issues are identified that require further training or support.
Work with services to improve, monitor and maintain high standards of quality in data capture and processing in order to ensure high levels of confidence in the data used for local decision-making and statutory returns.
Develop and maintain procedures for routine data auditing.
Be responsible for implementing various national submissions, coordinating data collection, participation in projects and detailed analysis of findings influencing work programmes to shape developments and planning of services.
To assist the Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) and Clinical Safety Officers (CSO) with the delivery of clinical safety activities.
Support the CNIO and Health Informatics Project Manager with Integrated Risk Management System maintenance.
Main duties of the job
Information Quality Work Programme
o Maintain an awareness of the impact of data quality on key trust-wide targets and lead a programme of work aimed at improving the quality of patient related data held which accurately reflects the Trust's service delivery and patient care.
o Routine detailed data quality audit sampling of activity data for indicators reportable to NHS England and produce a summary report for sub-Clinical Leadership Executive groups.
o Ensure known data quality errors are corrected.
o Contribute to the development and testing of centralised Health Informatics reporting ensuring alignment to national and local definitions and accuracy of data.
o Support kitemarking associated with the Information Quality Work Program.
o Chair and coordinate time limited working groups across directorates to embed change and complete actions associated with the Information Quality Work Program.
o Support the (CNIO) to proactively monitor corporate performance; identifying areas of risk and implementing agreed preventative measures and remedial action.
o Ensure high levels of compliance with relevant data capture and data quality SOPs, policies and best practice guidance.
