High Dependency Unit Assistant Psychologist

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has opened to assist in the delivery of psychological services (including psychological assessment and intervention) under the supervision of a qualified clinical/counselling/ forensic psychologist working independently within the limits agreed.

Main duties of the job

To assist in the delivery of psychological interventions on a 1:1 or group basis alongside multi-disciplinary colleagues, under the supervision of the qualified clinical psychologist.

To work with multidisciplinary colleagues to assess and develop individualised care and treatment plans and review patient care.

To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a client's problems.

To assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings where care takes place.

To attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings and attend relevant clinical meetings.

To communicate effectively and sensitively with service users, their families and carers, other professionals and agencies, and to maintain a high degree of professionalism
