Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join a new mental health community rehabilitation service for people living in North Lincolnshire and we are looking for enthusiastic and innovative professionals to help us embed this new 7-day service. The service will enable people to receive an intensive community rehabilitation service closer to home in their own community. We are transforming with the NHS Long Term Plan (2019) for Mental Health at the heart of our innovations.

The community rehabilitation service will consist of a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency workforce, working collaboratively between Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) and North Lincolnshire Council to share skills and specialisms to support individuals and improve their quality of life.

The team will be led by a team manager and has dedicated administrative support.

RDaSH is committed to the ongoing development of our colleagues and offers half a day each month CPD for everyone in the organisation through our 'half day learning' scheme. This role would be expected to deliver some half day learning sessions to support other colleagues in their understanding of this specialism.

Main duties of the job

This role is for a Consultant Occupational Therapist in the North Lincolnshire Mental Health Rehabilitation Team. This role will primarily be clinical working with a caseload of complex individuals and supervising other members of staff. The main roles of this job are:

o To improve the lives of people with a mental health need in North Lincolnshire by providing assessments and interventions which adhere to the multi professional consultant level practice capability and impact framework.o The majority of time will be focussed clinically as per the expert practice pillar of the frameworko This role will be part of a 7 day service and as such will require the post holder to work some weekend days on a pre-agreed rota basis.

Expert Practiceo A significant proportion of time will be focussed clinicallyo To clinically lead the Mental Health Rehabilitation service and be clinically responsible as appropriate for the service and pathwayo To work as an autonomous practitioner maintaining a defined caseload; holding a complex patient focused caseload, dependent upon appropriate areas of interest pertinent to service needs and priorities.o To model/ lead on partnership working with other agencies as appropriate, including Social Services, User/carer representative groups and voluntary agencies at local, regional, and national levels.
