Job summary
To manage and provide effective and efficient IT server and storage support and provision to the Trust and associated partners/clients.
To ensure that the Trust IT infrastructure systems are maintained and operate to the highest possible standards at all times, with downtime kept to a minimum and handled in an efficient manner.
To be a subject matter expert for support, monitoring and maintenance of all server & storage infrastructures.
To partake and contribute towards the development of IT infrastructure services in line with the Trust's and associated partners/clients' business strategies.
To assist the Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer (Server & Storage) and provide cover as required.
To be part of a wider team providing on-call services to the Trust across the full range of IT services.
To provide assistance and mentorship to the wider IT department, as and when required.
Main duties of the job
To manage, maintain, develop, monitor and test services for server & storage infrastructure for the Trust and associated partners/clients.
To be a member of the team developing, implementing, testing and maintaining protocols and procedures to provide effective security of the Trust and associated partners/clients' IT infrastructure services.
To provide support/maintenance, security developments and monitoring of the Internet, Extranet, anti-virus, SAN storage, VMware and associated systems for the Trust and associated partners/clients.
To analyse data produced by the systems and produce management performance and capacity reports detailing options and recommendations to improve service efficiency and present these to the infrastructure management team.
To develop and effectively maintain, stock, inventory, procedures, guidance notes, schedules and contracts for the Trust and associated partners/clients' servers, systems and users.
To monitor and update relevant information systems with actions completed and provide server statistical information.
To have responsibility for day to day server support and maintenance. To deal with and resolve complex server problems for the Trust and associated partners/clients.
