Job summary

We are seeking to appoint to a Specialist Grade Doctor with Approved Clinician Status to work alongside our Consultant Psychiatrists within Adult Mental Health Services. This split post will help to set up and deliver a brand new Community Rehabilitation Service 0.5wte and also to work 0.5wte into the local Early Intervention in Psychosis Team.

The Trust provides a comprehensive adult, child, older adult, learning disability, and community forensic mental health services to Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire. It also provides Community Physical Health Services and Substance Misuse Services in Doncaster. This post is based in North Lincolnshire, with the main base being in Scunthorpe.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a leading member of the well-established Community multi-disciplinary team providing senior medical input into the Early Intervention in Psychosis team and the Community Rehabilitation Team, and act as the Responsible Clinician for some patients in that cohort . The doctor will have a flexible time table designed to respond to the needs of the patients and carers as well as the needs of the team members for support and advice, with reciprocal cover for SPA sessions with the Consultants working in the service.This is an exciting time to join the Trust as we enter a period of transformation to a more modern and dynamic service model.

Applicants must have approval for Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status. They should have evidence of excellent communication skills and a commitment to multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working. We particularly encourage applications from doctors who have strong patient-centered values, who seek to reduce health inequalities and who practice in a recovery-focussed way.
