Job summary
To support and enhance the professional care of patients within the service by delivering a range of delegated clinical health duties and therapeutic support for young people & their families under the supervision of a qualified professional member of the team.
If you don't already have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification [relevant to your role].
As an apprentice within RDaSH you will be given the opportunity to gain experience, learn work-related skills and obtain all the tools needed to thrive.
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
Whether you already work for us or are joining the Trust and NHS for the first time, apprenticeships can help you to develop the skills, knowledge and know-how in order to embark on a successful and fulfilling career within the health service.
Main duties of the job
- Provide and receive information from patients, patient's representatives andimmediate team colleagues. Exchanges factual information to patients using persuasion, reassurance, tact and empathy. Overcome barriers to understanding that may be a result of mental illness.
- Undertake procedures and practices that will require a base level oftheoretical knowledge. Knowledge of health and related procedures, clinical observations, Mental Health act.
- Conduct and design group therapy sessions to cater for the patient group, in a sensitive manner
- Assess patient's condition through basic test results, assessemotional health of patients, and respond accordingly
- Support patients using equipment where narrow margins exist for error, accuracy is important and use of them requires training/practice.
