Job summary

We have been expanding our offer across RDaSH and are seeking 1 further enthusiastic and skilled Complex Emotional Need (CEN) practitioner working 30 hours per week to join the Doncaster CEN pathway. We welcome applicants from a range of professional backgrounds including Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing, Social Care and Therapy roles.

We will support the successful candidate through the necessary DBT and wider training relevant to role.

The roles will deliver Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) assessment and treatment including skills class, phone coaching, 1:1 treatment sessions and join a existing DBT consult. You will work with patients to build their life worth living, achieve behavioural stability and improve their quality of life.

These roles have been created due to the requirement under the CMHT transformation to ensure that people with Complex Emotional Needs (who may have a diagnosis of Personality Disorder) are able to access dedicated specialist trauma-informed pathways receiving treatment delivered by people with the right level of expertise and training.

We are passionate about trauma informed systems for staff noting the nature of the work and role demands and therefore personal and professional support is paramount. You will receive operational and clinical management from the Complex Emotional Need Pathway Lead and be supported by the wider systems.

Main duties of the job

We are recruiting a 30 hour per week Complex Emotional Need Practitioner.

The successful candidate will join our specialised and developing team, whilst supporting the wider CMHTs with the excellent work they deliver on. You will work in a DBT hub 3 days whilst offering specialist skills and consultancy into the MDT of an Adult Community Mental Health Team in Doncaster the other 1 day per week.

There will be interface and link working with wider systems, working across traditional boundaries, taking into account of individual needs and age-related complexities.

Due to this being a developing pathway, the successful candidate will be expected to display cognitive flexibility. We welcome applicants who are creative and dynamic. This is truly an exciting time to join a developing service, delivering a well established treatment.

We are thrilled to be in this position to expand our service offer to benefit those with CEN and their families carers and important others and look forward to receiving your application should you feel this is the role for you.
