Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Rotherham Care Group, Acute Directorate for a Matron.

The post is currently available to cover areas across Adult Mental Health, Crisis Services and Older People Services . The Acute Matron post is an essential role in promoting leadership across our Acute Directorate.

We are currently seeking confident, proactive professional leaders who will contribute to our vision for the future of the Acute Directorate. Managerial experience and an understanding of leading and managing a service is an essential part of the role. Applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills that will enable them to challenge, motivate, influence and inspire colleagues at all levels.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be a collaborative, inclusive and compassionate leader with values and behaviours that inspire high standards of care and pride in the profession.

In conjunction with the Care Group senior leadership team, the postholder will create a positive safety culture, where the environment is collaboratively crafted, created, and nurtured so that everybody (individual staff, teams, patients, families, and carers) can flourish to ensure the best, safe, quality care by:

1. Continuous learning and improvement of safety risks

2. Supportive, psychologically safe teamwork

3. Enabling and empowering speaking up by all

The post holder, will demonstrate highly visible leadership, be responsible for the delivery of safe and therapeutic care, using an effective governance framework within a defined set of teams or/and ward team areas. In line with 'The Matron's Handbook. NHS Updated July 2021.
