Job summary
The Continence Staff Nurse is a qualified nurse with an active registration with the NMC. In addition will have experience in catheter care, continence health promotion, continence needs, assessment and training to other professionals and agencies in the area. The Continence Staff Nurse will also liaise between primary and secondary care settings as well as other agencies in the management of treatments of catheter care in the community and in a clinical setting. The Continence Staff Nurse will be involved in the day to day delivery of the Specialist Continence Service
Main duties of the job
Post holders must be able to demonstrate competence and confidence in a wide range of relevant clinical skills and knowledge, relevant to continence, urology and bowel health. Ability to demonstrate understanding of case management is an advantage. The successful candidate will either be a qualified mentor or be willing to undertake mentorship training in the very near future.
