We are recruiting Trainee Nursing Associates to work within our Doncaster Learning Disability Services. Your base placements will be within Doncaster Services and on successful completion of the course you will be allocated a Nurse Associate role within our Doncaster services
This opportunity is being offered as part of a partnership with other regional health care organisations and will enable you to be part of a two-year work based learning programme, delivered in conjunction with the course provider. Successful candidates on completion of the apprenticeship will be awarded a Level 5 Foundation Degree and become a qualified Nursing Associate which includes NMC registration. The two-year Higher Apprenticeship programme will include up to two base placements and short alternative placements in our other services or partner organisations across the ICS within a variety of settings. Successful candidates will be expected to travel to placements throughout the programme and to the course providers base for taught sessions where required
You will be expected to work 24hr, 7 day week shift patterns whilst on base placement. On alternative placements you will expected to work 7.5 hours per day Monday to Friday
Main duties of the job
We are seeking individuals with experience of working within health care. If you have a compassionate attitude and are interested in developing your career within the health service then this may be the course for you
In order to meet the academic requirements of the course the entry criteria for the posts are:
- Minimum age 18
- Previous experience of working in a health/social care setting
- 100% compliant on MAST Training
- English and Maths at GCSE A- C (4-9) or Functional Skills Maths and English at level 2-to be provided to support shortlisting
If you are shortlisted these documents must be provided to secure an interview
- Care Certificate or appropriate demonstrable experience in a caring role
Additionally, the following criteria is required:
- You must hold a substantive contract of employment
- You must be able to demonstrate line manager approval by submission of a supporting statement to samantha.mcmahon2@nhs.net
Please note: Some of your Annual leave will be fixed around your plan of study and remaining annual leave to be taken as per local procedure.
Successful candidates must be available to attend the pre-induction day [TBC] and be able to start the programme on 3rd February 2024
