Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Rotherham CAMHS team as a full time band 8a Clinical Psychologist. The post holder will work 0.4 wte in the Getting Help pathway and 0.6 wte in the Psychological therapies pathway. Although this is a split role the two pathways share an office and have good connections and working relationships at all levels.
Main duties of the job
The Getting Help pathway provides initial assessments and brief interventions for young people who are referred into CAMHS. The Clinical Psychologist has a valuable role in relation to complex assessments and formulations and providing consultation and support to the other members of the pathway. The Clinical Psychologist may also provide brief therapeutic interventions and/or supervise an assistant psychologist to complete these pieces of work.
The Psychological Therapies pathway is a multidisciplinary pathway and interventions are based on a variety of models including CAT, DDP, EMDR, CBT, family therapy, psychotherapy and art therapy. We would be keen for the successful candidate to have skills in one or more of these therapeutic models and/or in other models appropriate to the needs of the young people we work with. However, we have a strong emphasis on personal and professional development and are able to support further training. As well as delivering therapeutic interventions the role may also include providing consultation for other CAMHS staff, contributing to MDT discussions and providing supervision, including for Trainee Clinical Psychologists, for whom Rotherham CAMHS is a popular placement.
