Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Clinical Associate Psychologist to join our existing Clinical Associate Psychologist workforce within the newly developed age inclusive place-based Primary Care Mental Health Team (PCMHT) within Rotherham. This team is a key part of local and national primary and community transformation to increase access for mental health support.

As part of the PCMHT you would be clinically led by the principal clinical psychologist and would be part of a group of psychological professionals including Clinical psychology, CBT, Clinical Associate Psychologists and Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners. The PCMHT also includes staff from all our place partners to holistically meet the needs of service users with complex needs, therefore the role will include close collaboration with VCSE organisations, Social Care etc.

Main duties of the job

Within the PCMHT you would provide support to dedicated Primary Care Networks (PCN) including therapeutic assessment, formulation and brief interventions. We have a well established groups hub within Rotherham, including psychological professions led group interventions such as DBT informed emotional coping skills, trauma stabilisation and compassion focussed therapy. It is likely that a key part of your role would also be working within the groups hub. You would also have a role in the development and supervision of non-psychological staff.

We are looking for a Clinical Associate Psychologist with excellent clinical skills, and a passion for working with people with a broad range of mental health needs across the lifespan. The successful candidates will have a strong drive to work collaboratively as part of the primary and community mental health systems to enhance services. They will be committed to the principles of recovery, have effective interpersonal and time management skills, as well as being a responsive and motivated team player.

You will be supported through individual clinical supervision with a clinical psychologist and will have opportunity the engage with a range of supervision and consultation groups facilitated by clinical psychologists and cognitive behaviour therapists; and also peer supervision. We are strongly invested in supporting staff development through further training opportunities.
