Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a semi-skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our Estates Maintenance team. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a full range of routine maintenance works, minor building repair works specialist cleaning and gardening/winter duties.

It would be desirable that the applicant has NVQ level 2 qualifications in an electrical, mechanical or building related discipline. You will be carrying out maintenance and installation work across our Trust properties and work with a variety of our specialist contractors and engineers. Our aim is to provide our patients and staff with compliant, safe and pleasant environments to work in. You will enjoy working with all our clinical staff, nurses, doctors and corporate staff to support them in their work.
Main duties of the job
The range of tasks is wide and varied but will include assisting Maintenance Crafts People on all types of work, including repairs and installations, plumbing related tasks such as clearing blocked drains, shower traps and repairing drains and waste pipes, repairing and or replacing locks, repairing, or replacing taps, repairing leaks. Carrying out PPMs and reactive work, feeding back any outstanding issues to Senior Technicians. A variety of compliance checks, including TMV, water temperature, ventilation fire dampers as well as ductwork/grill and diffuser cleaning.
You will ensure workshops and plantrooms are kept in a safe and tidy condition and be responsible for carrying out all duties in accordance with current health and safety at work legislation.
You will be required to undertake work outside normal hours at short notice to facilitate service demands.
