Job summary
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and innovative Screening Practitioner to work within the Doncaster School NursingTeam, delivering the National Childhood Measurement Programme (NCMP) and screening the hearing and vision of school agedchildren across the borough of Doncaster. You will also be expected to support children and families by giving health adviceboth over the phone and face to face as well as arranging group work in schools and other community settings, to support theNCMP and screening processes.
This post is for 2 vacancies for 0.6 WTE each.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to work within the team, but also independently in schools to carry out this role, following specific policies, guidelines and protocols.
We are looking for someone who has experience working with children and families in either a school or community setting, and is able to evidence an understanding of Public Health initiatives and programmes.
1. Use effective communication skills across health, multi-disciplinary, multi-agency, and broader health team2. Practise time management and effective prioritising skills to agreed timescales and within current resources3. Practise effective skills to assist in the process of change4. Participate in the induction programmes for new staff.
