Job summary

B6 RGN WARD SISTER (Permanent on Hazel Ward)

Hazel ward is a nurse and MDT led physical rehabilitation ward (intermediate care) within the Home First portfolio in RDaSH. We focus on the rehabilitation needs of patients, facilitating early hospital discharges and preventing acute hospital admissions where possible.

We are looking to recruit a band 6 ward sister/ charge nurse to work with us in this friendly team. We are looking for a dynamic leader who has experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.

The successful candidate will support a dedicated multi-professional team in providing high quality care for people with rehabilitation and long-term health conditions.

We want to hear from applicants with strong leadership skills as they would be expected to manage staff, provide education and problem solve in ward situations. You will be expected to ensure that we provide evidence based best practice to the patient group, while supporting and motivating a team in a challenging clinical environment. The candidate must have good problem-solving abilities, to be able to work as part of the team and work autonomously with your practice.

Main duties of the job

To inform & support the role of the ward manager, deputise in their absence, & perform delegated duties on their behalf.

To assist in providing professional, managerial & clinical leadership and ensure that the ward is able to provide a safe & secure environment for patients, staff & visitors at all times.

Work in partnership with all members of the MDT and other allied professionals within the ward.
