We are looking for a dynamic person to lead the education, training and continual professional development of our pharmacists throughout their career and deliver on the priorities of the NHS 10 year plan.
Working in an acute hospital, you will lead on the delivery of our foundation training year and experiential undergraduate placements for MPharm students at University of Brighton, with an opportunity to engage in regular patient facing clinical practice. Additionally, you will make key contributions to the delivery of our strategic vision for education and development within the pharmacy department gaining experience across several different dimensions through inter-professional education within the trust and working closely with multi-sector partner organisations within the Integrated Care System to develop the future pharmacist workforce.
Main duties of the job
Undertaking the role of Educational Programme Director for: Post Registration Pharmacists and our Foundation Trainee Pharmacist Programme
Liaison with local, regional and national bodies to enable trainee recruitment and ensure a quality educational program that responds to and meets professional and NHS requirements.
Supportingboth academic and work-placed learning as advised by University of Brighton
Line management of Trainee Pharmacists and specialist pharmacists within the education and development team
Being an Educational Supervisor, Designated Supervisor and Designated Prescribing Practitioner (once annotated)
Working collaboratively with the Lead Technician Education and Development to deliver the department's continuing education activities including supporting the provision of education programmes and clinical training for other staff members
Providing leadership and mentorship support
Facilitation of multi-disciplinary training including prescribing safety assessments for foundation doctors
Provision of a clinical pharmacy service including application of non-medical prescribing skills (once annotated)

- Current GPhC Registration as a pharmacist (Vocational Masters degree in Pharmacy (4yrs) and 1 years preregistration training /foundation year and experience)
- Postgraduate Diploma /MSc in pharmacy with predominantly clinical content or equivalent experience
- CPD portfolio that demonstrates an ongoing commitment to personal development
Desirable
- Registration with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and / or UKCPA
