Job summary
The Facilities Division has a vacancy for Logistics Driver Assistant to work within the Logistics Team within the Ancillary Services Department for ESHT.
The Logistics Team will support Clinical and non-Clinical Teams with the movement and storage of medical equipment, Hospital equipment, Furniture and other items throughout the ESHT sites.
The Operational Base will be in Eastbourne for the Logistics Team and storage facilities.
The hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week, predominately working from Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 4.00 pm. There is a need to the nature of the work for flexible working which will require longer hours or extra working days to complete urgent Trust requirements to support service delivery.
Main duties of the job
To co-ordinate and provide support for the Trust requirements to move, store and transfer equipment and furniture and liaise with Wards and Departments to ensure an excellent service is offered and delivered.
Understand the requirements of the Trust requirements to move, store and transfer equipment and furniture as needed.
Ensure the agreed services are delivered in a timely manner to the required standard in line with policies and procedures of the Trust.
Organise and allocate resources to optimise service delivery.
To provide a flexible service that will include some weekends and out of hours cover across the Trust for urgent response and pre-planned requests.
Make special arrangements as needed and staff rosters to allocate appropriate resources effectively.
Follow the Trust Policies, Procedures and Protocols and proposes and implements changes as and when required.
Understand the requirements of the Trust necessities to move, store and transfer equipment and furniture as needed.
Deal with all routine routes in a timely manner so that an appropriate response is provided.
Liaise with the Logistics Co-ordinator to identify any potential problems/issues.
