Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fulltime General Medicine Consultant within any speciality at East Sussex Healthcare in the Specialist Medicine Division. You will join our established GIM Consultants and nursing teams, specialty trust doctor and junior doctors within medicine division. The Department is looking to appoint an individual who are experienced, dynamic and committed in delivering services that reflect best clinical practice within the specialty of General Medicine.
The applicant will have experience in diagnosing and managing all aspects of General Medicine conditions with assessment and treatment. This post will provide consultant leadership to the supervision of junior medical and nursing teams delivering high quality safe outpatient and inpatient care.
The post will support inpatient referrals to the speciality and provide clinical expertise to the referring medical teams. This post does have an on-call commitment.

Main duties of the job
We are looking to expand our medical workforce with new substantive medical teams taking over two dedicated 28 bedded wards. The ideal candidate for these roles would be holders of a dual CCT in General Internal Medicine, and another medical specialty. The successful candidate will be supported as part of their respective specialty team and undertake clinics and activity within their specialty as well as looking after GIM patients. All medical specialties are welcome, but we would particularly encourage colleagues with a CCT in Rheumatology, Endocrinology/Diabetes or Respiratory to apply.
