Job summary
We are looking for a dynamic midwife to lead a team of 8 caseload midwives who care for people planning a home birth and for a specified vulnerable population. The successful candidate will maintain and utilise specialist knowledge and give guidance to the team and people planning to birth at home, those who do not speak English as a first language, those with moderate to severe mental health needs and those with involvement of Children's Services, liaising with health visitors, obstetricians, physiotherapists and those agencies involved in the family and baby's well-being, including referral to appropriate services /agencies as necessary and to take responsibility for incorporating identified public health concerns (e.g. lifestyle information) into overall risk assessment.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ideally work 0.3wte as a band 6 midwife within the team and will work clinically as required, (including being on call to ensure service is covered up to 5 nights per month) without supervision, and in a flexible way, across community and hospital boundaries, according to workload requirements.
