Job summary

We are looking for a Senior- NHS Staff Residential Accommodation Manager to lead our accommodation services across Welkin House, Eastbourne District General Hospital, and Conquest Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity to strategically and operationally manage staff accommodation services, ensuring safe, high-quality, and affordable housing for NHS staff while driving commercial opportunities for income generation.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Manager of NHS Staff Residential Accommodation is responsible for the strategic and operational management of staff accommodation services across multiple sites, including WELKIN, EDGH (Eastbourne District General Hospital), and Conquest.

Additionally, the role includes commercial management of the WELKIN estate, working closely with other NHS Trusts and exploring potential private tenancy opportunities. The role will focus on developing business strategies and identifying new opportunities to generate additional income while ensuring the continued provision of high-quality, safe, and affordable housing for NHS staff.

The Senior Manager will oversee a team of Accommodation Officers, ensuring effective service delivery across all sites and working to maximise occupancy and income generation.

  • Educated to degree/diploma standard or the equivalent experience
  • Member of ARLA ( Association of Residential Letting Agents)
  • Evidence of continued professional development to Masters level or equivalent level of knowledge and experience

Desirable

  • Professional qualification in housing management, facilities management, or business development.

Experience

  • Extensive experience in housing management, including property allocation, rent collection, and compliance with health and safety/legal regulations. E.g HMO regulations, Housing Act 1988
  • Proven experience in managing residential accommodation, with a strong focus on commercial property management and income generation.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing business strategies and managing commercial tenancy arrangements.
  • Commercial sector background in the customer services industry

  • Experience working within the NHS or a similar public sector organization.
  • Experience in leading commercial property initiatives and managing private tenancies.
