Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and flexible Practice Educator working within the Cardiology department at ESHT.
This is an innovative and progressive department, which is committed to the highest standards of nursing care. You will work closely in clinical practice with James Ward, CCU, Cath lab, Heart failure, Cardiac rehab teams and Cardiac Nurse Practitioners.
We have an excellent and supportive multi-disciplinary team approach to provision of care for our patients. We have made great progress in a number of areas and want to continue this progress through developing and supporting our teams cross site.
The successful applicant will be First level Registered with the NMC, Hold a recognised Coronary Care Course, hold Mentorship preparation Module/ENB 998 or the equivalent, educated to BSc level, hold a Practice Teacher module/PGCert or willing to work towards.
In this role you will be supported and encouraged to consider your own development as well as leading the development of our teams. The senior nursing team consists of Head of Nursing and Matrons, who will all be keen to support you and facilitate you in helping us be the best at what we do. Main duties of the job
To continue develop and support our teams cross site.Good interpersonal and organisational skills are essential to the role; as you will need to be able to liaise and communicate effectively with staff at all levels, provide support to registered nurses, students overseas nurses, HCA's on Trainee Nursing Associate programmes and care staff, empowering them to be confident and competent in their roles. Improving and maintaining clinical skills and ongoing professional development in the health setting is fundamental to the Practice Educator role. You will provide day to day support in clinical areas, whilst maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating tact and diplomacy which are important attributes required in this post.
The applicant should exhibit well developed interpersonal communication skills, be proactive, highly motivated and an effective time manager promoting a quality learning environment in the Trust.
