Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Radiology Department Assistant to assist radiographic, nursing and medical staff with clinical and administrative duties working a mixture of shifts Monday to Sunday.
Applicants must have a minimum of 6 Months experience (current) in a similar role in a Health or Social Care Environment. Possession of NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care OR an acceptable, alternative Level 2 Qualification will be an advantage.Good communication skills with a sympathetic approach to patients and carers are also essential.
Main duties of the job
Working 8am to 8pm with 45 minute break - 11.25 hour duty on a rota basis covering Monday to Sunday. Additional shifts are 08:30 - 17:00 Mon - Sun, and 16:00 - 00:00 Mon - Sun

You will be providing support for patients undergoing different types of imaging. You will be the first point of contact for our patients and will help to explain the process to them, as well as ready them for their examinations. You will work closely with the Radiographers to ensure that patients are ready for their imaging examinations, and are supported post-imaging.
You will be responsible for managing work-lists, changing patients, prepping examinations, cannulating patients and taking additional supporting details to name just a few responsibilities.
We are a busy department and our RDA's are essential to good patient care and efficient imaging lists.
