Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Manger post within the Medicine Division in East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. This role is a substantive full time Service Manager post in Diabetes and Endocrinology and Stroke. We would welcome applications from candidates who would like to broaden existing management experience into a different speciality, using their transferable skills.

There is a team of Service Mangers of which these roles will integrate, working together as part of the Medicine Senior Management team to include Medicine General Managers, Heads of Nursing and Clinical Leads.

You will support the delivery of high-quality care, as well as leading the implementation of service improvement projects, working closely with the General Manager, Clinical Leads and Head of Nursing. The Service Manager will support and advise the Clinical Unit management around issues and concerns they may have to improve patient flow and pathways.

It is important that the Service Manager can work autonomously and use their own initiative to solve problems. With a busy and varied workload, it is key that the post-holder can prioritise work where there is competing demands, whilst also leading their team to do the same. Building strong working relationships across the multi-disciplinary and divisional team is important and we are looking for a person whounderstands the challenges other members of staff face, working with them to achieve the Division's overall objectives.

Main duties of the job

The post will be based in Eastbourne District General Hospital with 1 day a week working from Conquest Hospital.
