We have a variety of surgical specialities; carrying out day surgery procedures, such as; Gynaecology, Urology, ENT (including paediatrics), Max Fax, General Surgery & Orthopaedics. Within this role, it is key that you can diversify & work a combination of areas within the unit, for example, support the ward area, alongside your role. Further upskilling could be discussed & supported.
If successful, you would also work in the proposed Sussex Surgical Centre (SSC), due for completion in March 2025. The project will deliver a modern, purpose-built day surgery unit which will include a pre-assessment area, four theatres, admission, recovery stage one & two, discharge space plus associated support facilities. The new unit will increase the amount of day surgery activity that takes place across the trust. There would be an expectation, if required, due to service demand to support Eastbourne main theatres & our other ESHT sites. You will work alongside main theatre staff who currently help support & deliver our Day Surgery Unit utilisation.
