Job summary

To work independently, cross-site, under supervision, as part of a multi-disciplinary team in supporting children with special needs to identify needs and services which will enable them to achieve their full potential.To undertake assessment using care planning and observations in clinics and other settings.To provide on going support and advice for children with special needs and their families.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity and time to join this expanding team in their newly refurbished base adjacent to the seafront and Egerton park whilst offering out patient clinics at Eastbourne District General and Conquest hospitals and some special schools across the County.

We are expanding our multidisciplinary working by developing the workforce with a desire to enable us to achieve a single neurodevelopmental pathway for children in East Sussex in collaboration with mental health, education and parent carers.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good general education to GCSE or equivalent
  • NVQ level 3 in Early Years, Education and Care or relevant level 3 NVQ or equivalent level 3 qualification
  • Evidence of additional training and experience relevant to care of children with special needs
  • Commitment to undertake additional training as required in post.

Desirable

  • Relevant Apprenticeship
  • NNEB or equivalent

Experience

  • Has worked with children in a healthcare setting
  • Giving advice and support to parents within a setting or through group work
  • Experience of working independently
